(Master) (full-time education)
Qualification: Master of Water Management and Environmental Engineering
Program duration: 1.5 years
Credits: 90 ECTS credits
Second (Master) level of higher education that corresponds to the seventh level of the National Qualifications Framework, the second cycle of the framework of qualifications for the European Higher Education Area – “QF for the EHEA” and the seventh level of European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning – “EQF for LLL”
Branch of knowledge: 19 Architecture and Construction
Speciality: 192 Construction and civil engineering
Entry requirements: on the basis of diploma of Bachelor by branch of knowledge 19 Architecture and Construction
Specific algorithm for prior learning recognition: provided that the previous level obtained in another country requires nostrification. Any informal or non-registered education recognition is null and void.
Requirements and rules for qualification, requirements for the curriculum implementation: 90 credits curriculum completed. Successful defense of the master’s thesis according to the curriculum.
The overall profile of the curriculum: during the 1.5 year study by cycles:

  • general training – disciplines of socio-humanitarian and basic training;
  • professional training – courses of professional training courses and disciplines of elective course;
  • research practice

Course objectives:

General-professional results:

  • to know and to be able to apply the legal aspects of the legislation of Ukraine in the professional activity, in the processof carrying our research research in the field of water management, health and safety of life, preservation of nature and nature resources use;
  • to be able to organize work according to the requirements of occupational health and safety
  • to be able to apply the theory of the experiment, carry out scientific and applied experimental research in the field and laboratory conditions;
  • to follow the requirements of professional ethics, to know the basics of business communication, to be able to work in a team, to be communicative in the professional sphere;
  • to be able to debate and explain the organization, technology, economics and construction management;
  • to be able to speak a foreign language including professional topics.

Special- professional results:

  • to be able to identify and provide with the reliability, stability and safety in the design and implementation of projects and maintenance engineering structures and systems, to identify patterns of display failures of water management systems and their components on the basis of collection and systematization of statistical information;
  • to be able to carry out research phenomena and processes in water management;
  • on the basis of knowledge of pricing, funding and economy of construction to determine the estimated cost of construction, to carry out basic cost calculations;
  • to be able to carry out engineering calculations of parameters of water management and integrated environmental design structures, design engineering structures and systems, to manage construction projects;
  • to be able to use professional and specialized knowledge and skills in the sphere of theoretical computer science and to use practically computer technologies in the design, construction and operation of water management and environmental projects;
  • on the basis of knowledge of construction processes, the use of material and technical resources, to be able to make decisions individually in the management of technological processes on building site in the process of implementation of water management projects and environmental projects.

Forms of training: full-time.
Compulsory or selective mobility windows: continuing postgraduate studies or work by the speciality in conjunction with the postgraduate course.
Practice / probation: research practice.

Professional profiles of graduates:

Work in the sphere: water management; industrial and municipal enterprises; construction of environmental systems and structures including those which are intended for cleaning water run-off, utilization of industrial and public utilities wastes, management of surface run-off; modeling of hydraulic processes with the aim of construction and maintenance of environmental objects and organization of work with emergencies; research of water management objects reliability, planning of experiments and research activity. List of possible positions that can take graduates: hydraulic engineer- researcher, engineer, hydraulic engineer, engineer-designer (water management), civil engineer supervisor- engineer, engineer of natural ecosystems restoration, engineer of water resources usage, engineer of land reclamation, engineer of design and cost work, engineer of calculations and modes, researcher, director (head, another governor) of the company in the design, construction, maintenance, management, research organizations and establishments, swimming-pool and regional water departments, channel departments, organizations of water management construction objects, educational establishments of water management major in the state governing bodies and local self-government in accordance with the profile of speciality.

Access to further studies:

Master of educational program «Water Management and Environmental Engineering» may continue with postgraduate study. Other features of the curriculum: a form of the state certification - defense of the master’s thesis.
